A brand born from one dog's story
SolaPup wasn't built in a boardroom or born from a gap in the market. It started with a broken, frightened dog named Roxy, and a family who refused to give up on her. Everything we put into our chews, every ingredient we choose and every one we leave out, traces back to what we learned walking alongside her.
Roxy: the dog who was thrown away
Roxy was a Dogue de Bordeaux, a French Mastiff, who had spent her life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. Locked in a cage, never knowing kindness, her whole existence measured in litters.
When she was no longer useful, she was discarded. A family took her in but couldn't understand the pain she was in. They left a toddler alone with a dog who was hurting every single moment of the day, and then blamed her for reacting.
When they said they'd have her put down if no one collected her within 24 hours, the Dogue de Bordeaux rescue we worked with called us.
Naturally, we collected her the same day.
Why I Created SolaPup
SolaPup was born from a simple, heartfelt mission:
To support dogs with health issues using gentle, effective, natural solutions — without chemicals, without allergens, and without compromise.
Every product we create is shaped by real experiences with real dogs — especially the many rescues who arrived broken and taught us more than any textbook ever could but guided by science to ensure the best solution possible.
SolaPup is for the dogs who need support.
For our family members who happen to be dogs who deserve to keep living their best life
For the families searching for something kinder.
And it all started with Roxy.
Roxy's Legacy - Three and a half precious years
Roxy didn't just survive, she became the heart of a brand. Her journey from pain to peace shapes every formula, every ingredient choice, and every decision we make at SolaPup. We had three and a half beautiful years with her, and she is our why.
Today her legacy lives on in a simple goal: helping active dogs keep moving, playing, and adventuring for as many happy years as possible. More walks, more play, more tail wags.
For the dogs who still have so much living to do, we'd love to help.
The Turning Point: Choosing Nature Over Chemicals
Vet after vet offered the same things: antibiotics, steroids, medicated washes, endless prescriptions. None of it addressed the cause. It treated symptoms briefly, and then the symptoms came back.
I knew we needed a different path, one that worked with her body rather than overwhelmed it. So I began exploring gentler options: natural ingredients and remedies, herbal and homeopathic support, hypoallergenic and raw nutrition, and kind, non-chemical healing.
Piece by piece, Roxy changed. Her paws healed. Her ears calmed. Her skin settled. She grew stronger, happier and more trusting. She blossomed. And she became the springboard for everything that followed.
Pain in Every Step, Every Breath, Every Touch
What we discovered when she arrived broke our hearts:
• At just three years old, she could barely move properly after a lifetime crammed in a small crate, with real, visible joint stiffness.
• Her paws were so inflamed and infected she couldn't walk outside without her skin splitting.
• She couldn't hold a chew with her own paws, the pain was too much, so we held it for her.
• Her ears were red, swollen and reeking of infection, yet she let me clean them without a single growl.
• Her skin was sore all over and she itched constantly, and nobody had ever stopped to ask why.
• She came into season three times in her first four months with us. Her body was completely out of balance. A healthy female should have one season every six months. Her hormones weren't just out of balance — they were completely wrecked.
This wasn't a dangerous dog. This was a dog who had never known comfort, safety, or proper care.
