How It All Began

SolaPup wasn't created in a boardroom. It wasn't born from a clever business idea or a gap in the market. It began with one broken, misunderstood dog — Roxy — and the determination to give her a life she had never been given the chance to experience.

Roxy: The Dog Who Was Thrown Away

Roxy came to us (Vips, Simon and Kim) after years of being used as a breeding bitch in a puppy mill, locked in a cage and never experiencing anything but fear and abuse. Her early life had been transactional — puppies in, profit out — until she was no longer useful. When she was discarded onto the street, she finally ended up with a family who didn't understand her pain. They complained she "growled at their 3‑year‑old." They left a toddler, unsupervised, with a dog who was suffering every moment of the day — who wouldn't growl?

We were contacted by the Dogue de Bordeaux rescue we worked closely with as Roxy was scheduled to be put to sleep the next day. Naturally, THAT didn't happen!

We collected her the same day.

Why I Created SolaPup

SolaPup was born from a simple, heartfelt mission:
To support dogs with health issues using gentle, effective, natural solutions — without chemicals, without allergens, and without compromise.

Every product we create is shaped by real experiences with real dogs — especially the many rescues who arrived broken and taught us more than any textbook ever could but guided by science to ensure the best solution possible.

SolaPup is for the dogs who need support.

For our family members who happen to be dogs who deserve to keep living their best life
For the families searching for something kinder.
And it all started with Roxy.

Roxy's Legacy

Roxy didn't just survive — she became the heart of a brand. Her journey from pain to peace fuels every formula, every ingredient choice, and every decision we make.

SolaPup is her legacy.

It's a promise that no dog's suffering will be ignored.
And it's a commitment to natural, thoughtful, compassionate care — the kind every dog deserves.

This is the true story of why SolaPup exists. And it will always begin with and honour Roxy.

For Roxy, and for every dog who deserves a second chance,

Vips, Roxy's mum

  • Roxy's Transformation

Roxy showed me something that changed my life:

Dogs don't just need to survive — they deserve to thrive.

  • The Realization

I realised how many dogs suffer silently from:

Joint pain, skin issues, allergies, inflammation, and poor nutrition.

And how many families needed help finding natural solutions they could trust.

  • SolaPup's Promise

To support dogs with health issues using gentle, effective, natural solutions.

Without chemicals, without allergens, and without compromise.

The Turning Point: Choosing Nature Over Chemicals

Multiple Vets had multiple solutions: antibiotics, steroids, medicated washes, endless prescriptions. None of them addressed the cause. They treated symptoms, temporarily and Roxy suffered all the treatments, visits, prodding and poking like a star.

I knew we needed a different path — one that respected her body rather than overwhelmed it.

So I began exploring:

• Natural anti-inflammatory ingredients
• Herbal & homeopathic remedies
• Hypoallergenic, raw-friendly nutrition
• Gentle, non-chemical healing

Piece by piece, Roxy started to change. Her paws healed. Her ears calmed. Her skin settled. She grew stronger, happier, more trusting. She blossomed.

She became the springboard for everything that followed.

Pain in Every Step, Every Breath, Every Touch

What we discovered when she arrived broke our hearts:

• At just three years old, she couldn’t move freely. Years spent confined to a small crate had left her with serious joint issues and a body that didn’t know how to function normally.

• Her paws were so inflamed and infected that walking outside caused her skin to split, with pus oozing between her toes. The pain was unbearable. She couldn’t even hold a chew with her paws — we had to hold it for her.

• Her ears were red, swollen, and reeked of infection. Yet she never growled, never snapped. She quietly let me clean them and apply natural ear drops, as if grateful someone had finally noticed.

• Her skin was sore and irritated all over, and no one before us had ever stopped to ask why.

• Then came the shock: she came into season four times in her first six months with us. A healthy female should have one season every six months. Her hormones weren’t just out of balance — they were completely wrecked.

This wasn't a dangerous dog. This was a dog who had never known comfort, safety, or proper care.
